I accidentaly stumbled upon this easy cleaning method after not being able to remove hard water spots and heavy oxidation on a pair of RV sideview mirrors. On many RVs, these sideview mirrors get dirty rapidly after being peppered with bugs, rocks and harmful materials as a result of traveling at high speeds
- Power Drill
- Buffer attachment for a drill
- Microfiber towells
- Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze professional swirl remover
- bucket of soap water and scrubber brush/ cleaning wipes
Don’t have all the equipment? No sweat… below you can purchase the same items at the lowest cost around. Click on the pictures to go straight to our online amazon store.
Step 1. Start by cleaning rims with soap and water or cleaning wipes to remove the majority of the dirt and road grime.
Step 2. Apply a small amount of Meguire’s swirl remover to either a buffing pad or towel and rub in a 2×2 inch square for a couple seconds
Step 3. Using a power drill and a buffer attachment slowly buff out a small area at a high drill speed. Keep working in small sections until whole rim has been polished.
Step 4. After buffing out complete area remove any residue with a microfiber towel or wrag.
Step 5. Sit back and enjoy your shinny new rims. At least thell look like new. And don’t be surprised if people start asking who details your rims
You can Repeat these same procedure and get a mirror-like finish on your chrome side mirrors.
